This software reads industry standard Mail.dat files, created using our First Logic presorting software, and allows us to do a number of functions electronically. This software allows us to view on screen all of the standard presort reports we use to print on paper. It also gives us the ability to produce tray/bag tags as well as pallet markers. Reports can also be printed as needed. With Monticello, we have the ability to update the Mail.dat files as needed to reflect mail date changes, update BMC/SCF information based on load plans, etc. Once we have performed any updates required, the Mail.dat files are loaded into the Postal One system. Should the Postal One system be down, we can use the Monticello software to create postage statements as well. Our in-house Post Office also has the Monticello software to use as a backup to the Postal One system.

Thompson Mailing has been approved by the United States Postal Service to participate in the PostalOne! Program.

What is PostalOne!? PostalOne! is a suite of online services that allows the Postal Service to electronically collaborate with its business mail customers. It streamlines the mail acceptance and postage payment process, provides consistent verification, improves tracking of mailing jobs and access to information, and eliminates paperwork. The purpose of PostalOne! is to make doing business with the Postal Service easier. The goal is to provide the business mail customer with a single access point for all Postal Service business systems used in the business mail process.

PostalOne! eliminates the need for paper printouts for presorted mailings. We now can use the Mail.dat file standard to send mailing job information to the Postal Service over the Internet instead of dealing with all that paper. We can check online to see when your mailing is verified and accepted, as well as generate online reports using information from your mailings.
